Peckham Space Public Programme - Autumn 2010

All events will take place at Peckham Space unless otherwise specified.
 

  Past events 

 FUTURAMA Preview, 16 September, 6-8pm 
Your first chance to see Futurama, bringing the spirit of the Worlds Fair to SE15.

 Open City, My City Too, 18 September 2-4pm 
Harold Offeh will speak as part of My City Too, the young Londoners’ campaign for better places and spaces initiated by Open City that works with young people across the capital to inspire them to take an active role in making better places and spaces in London.

 Together Zone, 29 September 6-8pm 
Design team Glass Hill will be in conversation with Will Sorrell creative consultant for the Sorrell Foundation. Utilising the seating within the exhibition this event invites you to share food and ideas on how innovative design can transform social spaces in the urban environment. 

Artist Talk, 14 October 6-8pm 
Artist Harold Offeh will speak with Sunand Prasad, senior partner, Penoyre & Prasad and former RIBA president, chaired by Paul Goodwin, Tate Britain curator and urbanist. This talk will address the potential of urban intervention and collaborative practice to influence design and architecture for the future.

 Eco Zone, 27 October 6-8pm 
Peckham Power, a local volunteer organisation encourage  people to generate and use sustainable energy. At this event practical solutions  for an ecological future for Peckham will be showcased. Come and join in.

 

 

 Access Zone, 10 November 6-8pm 
Taking the theme of safety as it’s starting point this event invites you on a night walk  to Surry Canal. You will be led by young people from Leaders of Tomorrow and artist Harold Offeh who will guide you around the area. Hot chocolate and marshmallows for those that finish. Make sure you wrap up warm!

 Communication Zone, 24 November 6-8pm

Does Peckham need better signage? If you think so come and join Leaders of Tomorrow, Glass Hill and Harold Offeh to discuss why signage matters. Your opportunity to create Peckham’s own version of the Hollywood sign that will be made and put on Surrey Carnal this very evening.

 Celebration Zone, 26 November 7-10pm
3D Design Students from Camberwell College of Art stage their own pop up exhibition from 23 – 27 November made in response to Futurama. This event celebrates their exhibition with music and refreshments.
