 Launch event, 27 May 2011, 6-8pm 

Your first chance to see newly commissioned artwork Slipstream, a specially commissioned film from artist David Cotterrell which maps social, geographical and personal histories of North Peckham.   It takes North Peckham residents’ narratives of how their landscape has changed over the last 30 years as its starting point and is partially filmed from the air using a specially-constructed  miniature stunt helicopter.  At this event you can meet the artist David Cotterrell and North Peckham residents involved in the project. This evening will also be a Last Friday with over 90 South London Art Map venues open ‘til late.

 Artist Talk, 9 June 2011, 6 - 8pm 

Artist David Cotterrell will discuss his commissioned artwork with Dr David Dibosa, Course Director, MA Art Theory, Chelsea College of Art and Design. This talk will explore how the artist has addressed the theme of identity and how Slipstream has worked with the parallel narratives of local residents.

 Relay Book Launch, 24 June 2011, 6 - 8pm 

Join students from Chelsea College of Art & Design’s Masters Programme (MA Art Theory, MA Curating and MRes Arts Practice) for the launch of their book Mapping Thoughts, which investigates themes such as identity and mapping. Such themes are closely related to the ideas behind David Cotterrell’s artwork Slipstream.  This evening is also a Last Friday with over 90 South London Art Map venues open ‘til late.

 Memories of North Peckham, 16 July 2011, 2 - 4pm 

 Do you have memories of North Peckham?  If so we want to hear from you. Come and meet other residents at this story telling event with free tea and biscuits.  Share your memories of a bygone era when Peckham Square was known as Canal Head or when Peckham Pulse’s Car park was home to a busy Community Centre and your stories will be archived as part of this project.
