Arts supports Peckham Space
Peckham Space marks the start of an exciting new partnership between Camberwell College of Arts, University of Arts London and Southwark Council’s Peckham Programme. This partnership will develop and expand on Camberwell College of Arts’ long term commitment to widening access to the arts within the locale of South East London and at a national level. It’s aim is to enhance the profile of Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London and build relationships with the wider community and a diverse range of stakeholders. Camberwell College of Arts welcomes this partnership which will enable the University of the Arts London to contribute to the development of Peckham as a vibrant cultural quarter.
For over a century, Camberwell College of Arts has welcomed students to South London, many of whom have remained in the area to make it a vibrant place for artists to live and work. Notable alumni include illustrator Paul Cox, textile designer Georgina von Etzdorf, filmmaker Mike Leigh, musician Humphrey Lyttleton and artists Gillian Ayres, Terry Frost, Howard Hodgkin, Richard Long and Tom Phillips. Camberwell College of Arts is now entering a new era with its partnership with Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges of Art, creating an alliance of specialist art schools.
