Evolution Quarter Residents Association (EQRA)

Evolution Quarter Residents Association (EQRA) was formed in late 2007 to represent the residents of two recently completed estates (South Quarter and Evolution) built as part of the North Peckham regeneration programme.

EQRA seeks to improve the overall quality of life for residents of the the areas it represents, specifically through raising awareness of transport deficits, poor safety and street-lighting records and encouraging businesses into the area to breathe life into a place with little character or identity as yet.

As well as organising social events and public meetings that foster good community relations and encourage a more cohesive society, EQRA seek to raise funds for playgrounds, public art and more greenery in order to restore a sense of civic pride.

EQRA were involved in the selection and development of the exhibition SLIPSTREAM by artist David Cotterell, which explored memories of the now demolished North Peckham Estate where many EQRA members formerly lived.
