 Ian Evers Tregarthen
 Jenkin Fund supports
 Peckham Space

The Ian Evers Tregarthen Jenkin Fund was set up in memory of art educator Ian Evers Tregarthen Jenkin (1920-2004).

The first private donation to support Peckham Space was generously granted by the Fund. The donation will provide salaried staff to help the smooth and successful running of Peckham Space, which will aim to make art accessible to all, especially to the local community around Camberwell College of Arts. We hope the donation will inspire future gifts from friends, former staff and alumni of Camberwell.

Jenkin was principal of Camberwell between 1975 and 1985. During this time, he developed student accommodation and established the Camberwell Residential Academic Fellowship Trust Fund to provide financial support for young artists. After retirement, he was the founding director of the Open College of the Arts.

“I have a great enthusiasm for Ian Tregarthen Jenkin, he always had an open door policy with students and was very approachable. I was the first to be awarded a fellowship from the Aidan Threlfall Trust and Ian was supportive of my ambition to use the money to become visiting Research Fellow at the University of Ife. He wrote letters and introduced me to people who could help. He really did help transform the lives of young people.”
