 Peckham Space

Southwark Council’s Peckham Programme plays a central role in the creation of a sustainable community for Peckham. The Peckham Programme team deals with social, economic and continued physical regeneration. It’s key objective is in the development and enrichment of Peckham over the short, medium and long term.

Peckham Programme’s partnership with Peckham Space, Camberwell College of Arts is part of a long-term strategy for the development of Peckham’s emergent cultural quarter. The partnership with Peckham Space aims to attract new audiences to the area as well as providing a pathway for local people into higher education within the creative industries.

Peckham Programme aims to build upon past regeneration successes of the Peckham Partnership, which came to an end in April 2002, while developing programmes and initiatives to improve the social and economic prospects of the local community as a whole. Arts are hardwired into plans for Peckham’s continuing regeneration.

In addition to managing Peckham Space, Peckham Programme runs I Love Peckham an annual festival alongside other one-off cultural events and activities. It also facilitates the Creative Industries Group, a network of local artists, agencies and organisations working with the arts to ensure a diverse and inclusive cultural input into local regeneration and town centre management.
